WordPress Design Process – Introduction

Our process is organized into three clear stages – ‘Before We Start’, ‘During’, and ‘After’. ‘Before We Start’ involves understanding your business needs and goals. ‘During’ is where we bring your vision to life, creating a unique and effective design. ‘After’ ensures everything runs smoothly post-launch with any necessary tweaks and adjustments. This friendly approach ensures an efficient, stress-free experience while delivering exceptional WordPress designs

Before we start

1 – Identifying Requirements, Discussions, Answering Questions & Informal Offer

The first step is to gather information from the clients. This step is especially important for us to understand the client’s business, what they do and what industry they’re in. So, we will gather the following information:

  • What does your business or organisation do?
  • We will go over your existing websites (if you have one) and find out the reasons for upgrading/changing.
  • What’s the website’s primary goal? For example, to sell products and services? Or to highlight? Or is it brand awareness?
  • Who is your ideal customer?
  • Who are your competitors?
  • What are your social media channels (if any)?

We will then see if we could include the design for free or make an informal offer.

If you are happy with our prices and what’s discussed, we will gather some more information and then we will move to the next step.

2 – Formal Offer

We will provide you with a formal offer on the service that you initially contacted us through. It’s important that you have all the required content before starting the next step.

3 – Layout Creation. First Draft

Now that we have a bigger picture of the site in mind, we can start creating the needed design and layouts for the individual pages. You must have real content to work with for this stage.
*We do not edit or enhance text content itself. We will, however, extract what’s needed for SEO. We will send you a draft version to review. This will be the home page and may include other pages. Based on your feedback, we will either modify it or go back to the drawing board and come back with a second draft.

At this point, we will share the website designs with you. Your feedback will be needed on the general layout of the website. Most of the text will be ‘Lorem ipsum’.

4 – Adding Content. Developing the Test Website

In the development step, the website design is translated to actual code that makes the website work. You will be able to see the website being developed on the test domain as we add content and finalise the website.

During this step, we’ll share the updates with you. We may need your feedback on menus, image sizes, swapping images etc.

5 – Testing, Feedback and Tweaking the Website

We do a lot of testing in the background using a variety of browsers or multiple devices.
We thoroughly test each page to make sure all links are working, and that the website loads properly on all devices and browsers.

We highly encourage you to test as well. We will take on board any feedback and make additional tweaks if required.

6 – Launching The Website

When everything has been thoroughly tested, and you’re happy with the site, it’s time to launch.

When you’re happy with the test site, we will back up your current website (if you have one) and replace it with the new website. If you are going to host with us, then we will need you to point your domain to our DNS provider. We often do this for clients. We can also help with any other domain-related technical issues if required.

We will test the website again and use automated software testing tools to check for broken links.
